Immaculate Heart’s Varsity Tennis Team defeated Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) with a 13-5 overall score Tuesday at Scholl Canyon Golf Course.
“We lost to FSHA last year so this win was definitely a big one for IH!” exclaimed IH Varsity Tennis Coach Courtney Linden. “I am so proud of the strength of our players.”
The rivalry between the two teams is “intense,” added Linden, especially since both teams came into the Mission League this year as last year’s co-champions of the Sunshine League. “To now win on FSHA’s turf is huge,” she noted.
In doubles play, IH junior Erin Dalleska and senior Elizabeth Kinson won all three of their matches — as did junior Halle Hutchinson and junior Sarina Moore. Additionally, freshman Makaela Mansilla and junior Willow Kroger won 2 out of their 3 matches.
In singles play, IH freshman Keynon Thompkins won 2 out of her 3 matches — as did IH sophomore Isabella De Mori.
Immaculate Heart’s JV Tennis Team narrowly lost to FSHA Tuesday with an 8-10 score.
