The Bamboo congratulates Immaculate Heart’s cross country teams for amazing performances at the recent Bell-Jeff Invitational in Griffith Park!
Despite the hot weather, the Varsity team placed first among 15 teams and 124 runners. Meanwhile, the JV team placed second in its meet after narrowly missing first place by one point!
Fifteen IH runners also earned medals for their performances at the event. They included Varsity members Amber Creasey, Daisy Salinas, Carolyn Najera, Violet Marko, Lily Kachikis, Madeleine Creasey and Katie Hughes. JV runners awarded medals were Ashley Galvez, Catherine Gibson, Orla Hladky, Emily Alonso, Lola Salinas, Ashley Galvez, Hana Chun and Jade Escobar.
“Even with the excessive heat, our girls ran with heart,” said IH Athletic Director Maureen Rodriguez. “Congratulations to all runners and especially Coach Fedi for her dedication and persistence.”
