Immaculate Heart seniors and juniors stepped out in style recently as they arrived in limos and party busses for the school’s 2015 Prom, a gala affair that took place at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles.
This year’s venue lived up to the theme of “A Night on the Upper East Side” as guests walked into the pavilion setting to a sweeping staircase and decorated tables, with outside views of the building’s fountains. The buffet dinner, which featured steamed vegetables, pasta, and chicken, received high marks from many. “The food was better than Winter Formal,” said senior Iris Park.
After dinner, the music started and guests soon filtered onto the dance floor, which quickly became too crowded. “The dance floor was like playing a game of Twister,” said Park. “I could barely fit one hand or foot on the floor.” The eclectic music was controlled by a DJ, who played a variety of songs from pop to rap.
Finally the time came to crown the prom princess – senior Paytsar Saakyan. The last song was Since You Been Gone where guests joined the dance floor to participate in the mosh pit. The night came to an end as IH girls joined hands to sing Immaculate Heart’s Alma Mater.
