During Spring break, I watched the movie Project Hail Mary. I went into this movie with high expectations, which were exceeded. It is highly rated, garnering a 94 percent rating on the website Rotten Tomatoes.
Released this year and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Project Hail Mary is a science fiction story starring Ryan Gosling about a man named Ryland Grace who wakes up alone on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or why he is there. As his memory slowly returns, he realizes he’s on a mission to save Earth from a deadly problem. During his journey, he makes an unlikely friend.
I personally think this is Gosling’s best work. He truly brought something special to this role. One of the strongest parts of the movie is how it mixes science and emotion. Even though a lot of it involves difficult space science and problem-solving, it never feels completely boring or impossible to follow. The movie does a good job of explaining ideas in a way that still makes sense for an average viewer.
Project Hail Mary is highly acclaimed for being “overwhelmingly positive,” and it is a thrilling, heartwarming, must-watch movie. The film is praised for its “cinematic goodness” and amazing space visuals. Overall, this is a great film for anyone.
