As the new school year begins, many students look forward to seeing familiar faces from previous years, learning about the classes they will be taking, making new friends, and, most especially, enjoying fun school events.
The beginning of the new school year not only brings together new students, faculty and clubs, but also new sports teams as well. On Friday, September 23, the Immaculate Heart school community joined together for a pep rally to celebrate the new fall sports teams, which include volleyball, cross country, and tennis.
Students enthusiastically rallied together under the theme “The United Classes of America,” with each class representing a different branch of the country’s armed services, including the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force. Each class sang a spirit song and cheered on the new teams. For the Spirit Activity, student players tried to get a ball through a moving hoop.
For many new students, this first pep rally was an eye-opening experience about the fun of this event as well as the fun that is yet to come at future pep rallies.
“I really enjoyed my first pep rally here at Immaculate Heart because it was such a spirited event. You could tell everyone was really enjoying themselves,” said freshman Sofia Yanez.
“The Pep Rally is a great way to get people excited about Immaculate Heart sports. As an athlete, you could really feel the support and energy from the community,” said sophomore Kamea Wellentin.
The pep rally was a fun and spirited event for students of all grades. Most importantly, the event was a chance for Immaculate Heart athletes to be recognized for the hard work they put into their sports. Here’s to Immaculate Heart athletics!
