For my birthday this past November, I was able to attend a concert featuring Avicii at the Hollywood Bowl. Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, is a Swedish-born DJ, remixer, and record producer. He performed with his computers, sequencers, turntables, and mixing boards. Behind him there was a massive wall of lights that constantly changed, accommodating his songs. I was able to see images ranging from cool cityscapes to mesmerizing geometric patterns with every color and intensity imaginable. Avicii, who was the first electronic dance music artist to ever play at the Hollywood Bowl, kept the crowd of 17,000 people on their feet. Two of his most popular songs included “Hey Brother” and “Wake Me Up.” After performing for 2 hours without a single break, Avicii walked off stage declaring, “I love you, L.A.!” This was an amazing experience, a moment in life I’ll never forget! If you would like to experience the thrill of Avicii’s talent, I highly recommend you go to one of his concerts!
